Famously known as "Ash Street," Nantucket, Massachusetts is known for its rich history including cobblestone roads and flowers blooming through the streets. The rich texture and layered brushstrokes bring life to the beautiful hydrangeas, capturing the essence of Nantucket. I created this piece using professional oil paints for added texture and a single palette knife. The thick layers of bold pink, purple, and blue hues create a statement for any wall. I purposefully combined their rich shades with the abstracted background to create my own take on contemporary art and stay true to my love for breaking barriers of the expected.
The sides of the canvas are a thicker 1.5 inch depth which give a rich three dimensional display that pops against any wall. The sides are also painted black. "Hydrangeas on Nantucket" comes hardwired on the back for easy hanging and ships free domestically.
